NAMI In Our Own Voice
In Our Own Voice is a 45 or 60-minute presentation featuring presentation by two NAMI-trained individuals who share their personal, hopeful journeys toward wellness.
Parent Workshop is a 60 or 90-minute program for parents and caregivers who are interested in learning more about mental health conditions and youth. Includes presentation of personal stories by a young adult and a parent.
Skill-building workshop: Develop your personal story to better advocate for yourself, a family member, or for legislative advocacy on behalf of persons living with mental health conditions.
Three 90-minute modules are available:
Module 1: Telling Your Story - participants learn how to deliver a compelling, one to two minute version of their personal story
Module 2: Contacting Your Legislator - participants learn how to write attention-getting emails and make phone calls that leave a positive impression.
Module 3: Meeting Your Legislator - participants learn how to orchestrate successful meetings with elected officials.
NAMI Ending the Silence
Ending the Silence is a 50-minute presentation for junior and senior high school students and youth groups. A short educational presentation is followed by a hopeful, personal story shared by a NAMI-trained young adult who experienced a mental health condition while in school. Presenters take questions from the audience and take-away resource cards are made available to participants.
