Position Title: Executive Director
Reporting: The Executive Director will report to the NAMI Northern Virginia Board of Directors
Status: Full-time, exempt.
Salary: Annual salary $75,000 - $85,000 commensurate with experience
Opportunity: The Executive Director for NAMI Northern Virginia is also an ex-officio member of the Board of Directors. S/he will provide direction and leadership toward the achievement of NAMI Northern Virginia's philosophy, mission, strategy, annual goals, and objectives. The Executive Director, with instruction and guidance from the Board of Directors, will have overall strategic and operational responsibility for staff, programs, expansion, and execution of its mission. She or he will develop an in-depth knowledge of the field, core programs, operations, and business plans.
The Position: Under the direction of the Board of Directors, the Executive Director is responsible for overall management and operation of NAMI Northern Virginia, ensuring stability and growth. With the assistance of the NAMI Northern Virginia Board of Directors, the Executive Director will specifically manage seven critical elements: 1) non-profit operations, 2) relationship with the Board of Directors, 3) management and supervision of staff and volunteers, 4) finance and governance, 5) programs and events, 6) fundraising/development, and 7) community relations and advocacy. Identified within each element are key responsibilities listed below.
