Family Support Groups

NAMI Northern Virginia offers Family Support Groups for family members and loved ones (age 18+) who are impacted by mental illness (NOTE: During the COVID-19 public health crisis, we are having virtual support groups online, using the video-conference service Zoom; see below for more). Our support groups are free and no registration is required for you to attend. These family support groups provide a safe, judgement free, and confidential environment for attendees to meet with, learn from, and share with other family members, partners, and friends seeking support, education, and additional resources. NAMI Family Support Groups are designed for family members and loved ones of individuals who experience symptoms associated with depression, anxiety, PTSD, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and other mental health conditions.
Please contact the support group facilitator before attending a group to confirm the meeting time and location.
