NAMI PEER-TO PEER EDUCATION CLASSES: Peer-to-Peer is a 8-week peer recovery skills learning and support class for adults 18+.

More about NAMI Peer-to-Peer:   A 8-week learning and support program for adults (ages 18+) with a mental health condition who wish to work toward wellness. The class is offered at no cost to participants and is facilitated by two NAMI-trained volunteer Peer Mentors who are personally experienced at living well with a mental health condition.  Participants will:
* Learn coping skills and share experiences with peers who are also working toward wellness
* Learn more about mental health conditions
* Learn that we are not alone.  Did you know that one in five adults live with a mental health condition?

LOCAL COMMUNITY RESOURCES

Peer Resource Center: Merrifield Center in Fairfax: A safe and welcoming place to meet friends and find support. Employment Specialists are available at the Merrifield Peer Resource Center.  Niya Taylor and Gauri Malaviya are available to help walk in job seekers at the Peer Resource Center Tuesday -Thursday 10 A.M.- 4 P.M.  They provide Individual Placement and Supported Employment to help individuals living with mental health conditions return to work.  For additional information please contact the Merrifield Peer Resource Center at 703-559-3100 or follow up with LMECC http://www.lmec.org/home1.aspx

NAMI In Our Own Voice Presentation
90-minute presentation through which individuals living in recovery share their stories of hope and recovery, educating and raising awareness in the community. 

NAMI Ending the Silence Presentation
50-minute presentation through which high school students learn about mental health conditions and hear from a young adult living well with a mental illness.
