Stress Science and Self Care presented by MJ Hartford, Resident in Counseling, MA, NCC, RYT. This will be a virtual presentation on YouTubeLive.
In this reflective and practical webinar, we'll be talking about the science and impact of stress from a mind-body perspective. Short term and sustained stress have varied effects on mental wellbeing. By engaging in independent interaction you'll learn more about how to react to different types of stress and how you can pair self care strategies to help reduce the negative impacts of stress. We'll be exploring the different ways we respond to stress and trauma, learn about effective self-regulation and self-soothing, and go through specific techniques you can use right away to help you access more calm day-to-day. There will be ample time for guided reflection, practicing of mindfulness techniques, and questions. MJ Hartford is a resident in counseling at Sunstone Counseling in Falls Church, VA. In addition to being a resident in counseling, MJ is a National Certified Counselor, Registered Yoga Teacher, and Postpartum Support Virginia preferred provider. MJ specializes in helping women and teen girls heal, change, and grow utilizing their own innate strengths and evidence-based, integrative approaches to mental health. In addition to her counseling work, MJ is a workshop facilitator and counselor educator, supporting those who look to bring more wellness into their lives.
