President & CEO: Kristine Konen, MBA, CPRS
Ms. Kristine Konen has over 15 years of business experience working with training, leadership, and organizational development and is passionate about advocating for mental health. She completed her undergrad in Organizational Administration (Business, Communications, Sociology) and holds her MBA from Marquette University. She recently completed the 500 hours and exam required for the Certified Peer Recovery Specialist Certification.
Program Coordinator - Classes & Groups: Esther Lee
Ms. Esther Lee served NAMI Northern Virginia as an intern and volunteer before joining our staff in 2014. Esther received her Bachelors in Public Health from James Madison University. Esther coordinates NAMI Northern Virginia's education classes and support groups.
Program Coordinator - Youth Programs: Megan Souza
Ms. Megan Souza earned her M.A. from Tufts University in Child Studies and Human Development. She coordinates NAMI Ending the Silence presentation program to help bring mental health education, awareness, and hope to students, parents, and school staff throughout Northern Virginia.
Program Coordinator: Lee Duffy-Ledbetter
Mr. Lee Duffy-Ledbetter has years of experience in mental health education and advocacy, having previously coordinated a national mental health awareness and suicide prevention program. Lee coordinates our NAMI In Our Own Voice program to change attitudes, assumptions, and ideas about people with mental health conditions.
Family Support Partner Supervisor: Kishawna (Shawn) Scarborough
Ms. Kishawna Scarborough receives all incoming requests and referrals for peer support and connects families with a NAMI Northern Virginia Family Support Partner. Before joining NAMI Northern Virginia, Shawn served as a Childcare Center Director.
Family Support Partner Team:
Family Support Partners are trained parents and caregivers who use their personal experience to provide peer support to youth and families as they navigate mental health services and supports.
Communications and Development Coordinator:
Ms. Sally Mallison has more than 20 years’ experience in fundraising and communications for healthcare, environmental, and membership organizations. She received her B.A. in English from Duke University.
Bookkeeper: Veronica Sholin
Ms. Veronica Sholin is an experienced bookkeeper, providing bookkeeping and finance support to NAMI Northern Virginia. In addition to her background in bookkeeping, Veronica holds a PhD in Physics.
